Arctic Blast Dips Temperatures To Record Lows In NYC

The cold on Friday and Saturday broke records in New York City.

NEW YORK, NY — Friday and Saturday's arctic blast of freezing air broke records for low temperatures across New York City and the surrounding areas.

On Friday night in Central Park, temperatures hit 25 degrees, two degrees less than the record of 27 set on Nov. 10 in 1914, according to the National Weather Service. LaGuardia's 27 degrees and JFK's 25 degrees were also record lows for that date at those measuring stations.

And as Friday night turned into early Saturday morning, another round of daily record low temperatures was broken.
