Sen Sakana, which opened in July, blends together Japanese and Peruvian influences. On the restaurant’s Facebook page, Sen Sakana is described as “the finest example of Nikkei cuisine in New York.”
Nikkei means “of Japanese descent,” but in terms of food, it relates to a Japanese-Peruvian crossover.

West Village Italian restaurant Perla has changed course to an all-day cafe and wine bar called Fairfax, according to Eater.com. Pilot is no ordinary Brooklyn restaurant — and yet, it fits right in; the restaurant opened in early August as an eatery on the water. Located at Pier 6, Pilot is Brooklyn’s newest oyster bar, offering cocktails and summer fare every day until midnight.

Address: 213-10 41st Ave.
One Station Plaza debuted in July as the sister restaurant of Bourbon Street on Bell. Guests can choose from new-age-style cuisine with a classic bar flare comprising sandwiches, burgers, cheese boards, salads, desserts, entrees and drinks amid an outdoor beer garden that’s open year-round.
Neighborhood: Greenpoint
Address: 90 Calyer St.
Chez Ma Tante opened in April as a purveyor of New American and French fare, serving lunch and dinner. The restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. on most days, with a 9 a.m. start on Mondays.
Descriptions are scant on Chez Ma Tante’s Facebook page and website, but the restaurant’s Instagram page seems to speak for itself, displaying dishes such as oysters, pierogi with ramps and piave cheese, steak tartare and a “brunch hot dog.”
