Ride A Citi Bike For $3 In April

NYC's bike-sharing service is offering single rides for just $3 this month.

NEW YORK, NY — It may not feel like spring, but Citi Bike is celebrating the change of seasons anyway. New York City's bike-sharing service is offering single rides for $3 for the month of April to let New Yorkers try a ride on the cheap.

The deal offers a 30-minute trip on any of the more than 12,000 Citi Bikes for the same price as a single-ride subway ticket, paid through the service's smartphone app.

That's a big price cut from the $12 Citi Bike day pass, the cheapest option any other time of the year. Each additional 30 minutes will cost $3 extra, according to Citi Bike's website. The deal is also available in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Citi Bike says the discounted rides are a way for New Yorkers to try the bikes before committing to a pricier pass or yearly membership, which costs $169 for unlimited 45-minute rides. A three-day pass comes with unlimited 30-minute rides for $24. Public housing residents can get a membership for just $5 a month.
