‘Sam Smith Belongs In Hell’: Singer Heckled In NYC Park, Video Shows

NEW YORK CITY — A heckler’s hellish stream of bigoted insults greeted singer Sam Smith during their recent stroll in Central Park, viral video shows.

“Sam Smith belongs in hell,” an apparently Irish woman shouts at Smith in the video posted this week.

“You demonic, twisted sick b------.”

The video follows Smith’s controversial recent Grammys performance of their song “Unholy” with Kim Petras. Smith, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, donned devil horns through the performance, which prompted a handful of complaints to the FCC, TMZ first reported.

The woman in the video quickly moves beyond Satanic insults. She accused Smith of “grooming” children — an unfounded and bigoted accusation against many LGBTQ+ people, from drag performers to pop singers.

“Leave the kids alone, you sick f-----,” she said. “Sam Smith is a pedophile.”

Another woman can be heard shouting what sounds like “Illuminati.”
