Stowaway Who Flew From JFK to Paris Back In NYC To Face Charges

NEW YORK CITY — A 57-year-old woman who snuck onto a Delta Air Lines flight from New York City to Paris last week has been returned to New York City to face charges.

Svetlana Dali, a Russian National, is expected to appear in Brooklyn Federal Court sometime Thursday, according to prosecutors.

Dali, on Nov. 26, got past airport security and boarded the Delta flight without a boarding pass, according to multiple media reports.

Surveillance footage from TSA shows Dali using a TSA lane for crew members to get on the flight, CBS News reported.

The 57-year-old woman was discovered as a stowaway while the plane was midair, and was taken into custody when she landed in Paris and refused entry to France, according to the report.

Dali was escorted by French law enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents on her return flight.

When she arrived at JFK Wednesday night, Dali was arrested by the FBI.

It is not known at this time what charges Dali could be facing.
