Straphanger Shoves Asian Woman In Racist Subway Tantrum

NEW YORK, NY — A mother shoved an Asian woman she accused of taking her daughter's seat in a racist tantrum captured on video. The viral clip published last week shows the enraged straphanger launching accusations of racism herself before shoving the woman and threatening to spit on her.

"This ain’t your country. Welcome to America," the mother says. "Gangsta. Welcome to Brooklyn, b----."

The video Jose Amatute posted to YouTube May 30 had gotten more than 366,000 views as of noon Wednesday.

The upset mom says the targeted woman got a seat instead of her daughter because the girl is black. The Asian woman tells her to be calm, but she just gets angrier.

"What’s calm? You playing with my kids — if that was your kid you’d be OK with it? So f--- you," she says.

After the woman tells her to mind her language, she says, "Mind your a-- and move it before I kick you."

The mother then shoves the woman out of the seat, knocking her onto the floor of the train. She's undeterred after the woman threatens to call the police.

"F--- police, b----," she says. "Y’all all speak English? Tell her what she did wrong. She put my child out a seat."

"F--- outta here," she added. "Gonna put my child out a seat 'cause my daughter Spanish and she Chinese."

The video shows the mom standing up and threatening to spit on the woman, but she eventually backs off. Told again to be calm, she says, "I'm calm til you play with my kids."

"I’m a mother. F--- your calm," she said. "Put my f------- child out a seat."

At the end of the clip, the furious mom notices the straphanger filming her. She shouts, "What you recording?" She then suggests a scenario that would anatomically impossible for a woman to engage in. The video immediately shuts off.

It's unclear from the video when or where the incident happened.
