These NYC Food Trucks Are Among The Nation's Best

The Big Apple makes five appearances on The Daily Meal's list of the 101 best food trucks in the U.S.

NEW YORK, NY — New York City is known across the world for its renowned restaurants — it's home to 71 Michelin-starred eateries and the winner of this year's James Beard Award for outstanding chef. But hungry New Yorkers can also find top-notch cuisine parked on the city's streets.

Five food trucks from the Big Apple appear on The Daily Meal's list of the 101 best food trucks in America, publishsed last week.

The food-and-drink website took cues from its previous lists and other food truck guides to create its ranking, while also incorporating information from online sources such as Yelp, TripAdvisor, Zomato and the trucks' followings on social media.

The Cinnamon Snail, which serves up an acclaimed all-vegan menu, was the city's highest-ranking food truck at No. 8. Two other New York-based trucks claimed spots and the top 50, and two more appeared further down the list.

Here's a look at the five best food trucks in the five boroughs, according to The Daily Meal.

No. 8: The Cinnamon Snail

The vegan food truck serves dishes like a smoked sage seitan burger and a red curry grilled tofu sandwich in both New York and New Jersey. There's also a physical location at the Pennsy Food Hall in Penn Station for any travelers craving a vegan bite.

No. 31: Luke's Lobster

This East Village-born sustainable lobster shack serves wild-caught lobster rolls out of 13 physical locations and two food trucks that set up shop in New York and New Jersey.

No. 45: Taïm Mobile

This food truck serving top-notch falafel with unique toppings grew out of the eponymous Waverly Place falafel shop that was started in 2005. The founders, Einat Admony and Stefan Nafziger, now have five Taïm locations as well as the restaurants Bar Bolonat and Balaboosta.

No. 78: Korilla BBQ

Get Korean barbecue in a burrito or a bowl at this popular food truck, which has more than 28,000 Twitter followers. There's also a physical location in the East Village.

No. 94: Uncle Gussy's

This Greek food truck serves up Mediterranean favorites such as gyro sandwiches and platters at the corner of 51st Street and Park Avenue in Midtown. There's also a physical location inside the Food Bazaar Supermarket in Long Island City.
