Torrington Restaurant Celebrates 2nd Anniversary with Charity Chicken Wing Fest!
-DONATES $1 FOR EVERY DOZEN OF WINGS TO TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION THROUGH SEPT 8TH-

One of the most globally recognized and in-demand comfort foods is fried chicken wings! Originating in Buffalo, New York in 1957, these tasty treats have become a staple at sports events, cultural gatherings, family dinner tables and everything in between. Now, The Store Bar & Grill in Torrington, CT, is using its popular menu item to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Specifically, the family-owned eatery will donate $1 for every dozen of wings sold through September 8, 2025, to the national charity which helps military families secure mortgage-free homes. The Charity Wing Fest coincides with The Store Bar & Grill’s two-year business anniversary.
“While many Connecticut restaurants scale back during the slower summer months, we have maintained momentum, attracting new patrons and consistent crowds each day and night”, said Dena Franks, co-owner of The Store Bar & Grill. “We believe that’s due to our old-fashioned way of doing business by offering excellent food at an affordable price within a home-like setting where everyone knows your name. Our customers have become our extended family and have supported us throughout these past two years and for that we are extremely grateful.”
Franks provides some reasons why customers keep coming back, including:

Franks explains her decision to host the Charity Chicken Wing Fest stemmed from the recent surge in chicken wings on a global level and how The Store Bar & Grill offers the most eclectic variety of sauce flavors in the state, including Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Barbecue, Sweet Chili, Torrington Hot, Mango Habanero, Jamaican Jerk, Spicy Harissa, Lemon Pepper, Marsala, Spicy Mediterranean, Tunisian Buffalo and Garlic Hot.
“Using our famous chicken wings as an original fundraising program for first responders and vets is a win-win situation,” adds Rodger Mort, co-owner of The Store Bar & Grill. “Dena and I both come from military families with our fathers, uncles and cousins serving and some being killed in the line of duty. We believe that givers always gain and will always help both local and national charities that improve the lives of our servicemen and women.”
