NEW YORK CITY — A man accused of driving a U-Haul into 12 people during a terrifying rampage in Brooklyn in February faces a murder indictment, prosecutors said.

Weng Sor, 62, was arraigned Monday on a 25-count indictment, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

“This was a terrifying incident in which we allege that an innocent pedestrian and numerous cyclists were intentionally targeted and mowed down by this defendant, including a father of three who did not survive his injuries," Gonzalez said in a statement.

Sor, who formerly lived in Las Vegas, had long experienced troubling mental health issues before he got behind the wheel of a U-Haul Feb. 13, police said.

Over a harrowing hour, Sor swerved the truck into 10 pedestrians, cyclists and scooter riders, as well as two police officers, across Bay Ridge, authorities said. One e-bike delivery worker — YiJie Ye, 44 — was struck and killed, prosecutors said.

After Sor's arrest, he told cops that a hallucination triggered the spree.

“He states when he’s driving his van, he sees an invisible object come towards the car,” Chief of Detectives James Essig said. “He says, ‘I’ve had enough,’ and he goes on his rampage.”

The chase ended more than 3 miles from where the rampage started when a police cruiser cut off the U-Haul and blocked it against a building near the Hugh L. Carey, commonly known as the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, police said.

A judge Monday ordered Sor held without bail and to return to court May 31, prosecutors said.
