What's Open, Closed On MLK Day In New York City
Schools are closed, but many people are going to work.

NEW YORK, NY — Most New Yorkers will be going to work on Martin Luther King Jr. Day just like any other Monday. Just 37 percent of workers nationwide get the day off as a paid holiday, a 2016 Bloomberg BNA survey found.
But that doesn't mean everything will run as usual. MLK Day is a federal holiday marking the birth of the renowned civil rights leader, so many government buildings and other establishments will be closed. The subways and buses will also be running on a modified schedule.
Here's a rundown of how the holiday could impact your routine.
