EMS Volunteers Honored for Lifesaving Work

Regional group cites three Rocklanders and Spring Hill Ambulance Corps.

The Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council has honored three Rockland residents and a local ambulance corps for going above and beyond the call of duty as emergency medical service first responders.

"We are very proud of our honorees, people who put their lives on the line daily to save others," said Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef. "And this is a particularly special year, because the first-ever Youth Provider Award has been given to a Rockland County resident, a young man who will serve as a shining example to others of volunteerism and community spirit."

Vanderhoef honored each recipient with a plaque commemorating their accomplishment. The New York State Department of Health's EMS Bureau sets the criteria for the annual awards.
