Children Rescued From House Fire In Spring Valley: PD

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — First responders safely evacuated several children from a house fire on Wednesday.

First arriving Ramapo police officers found heavy smoke inside the Stella Drive home, and they rescued the children from the basement, according to a Ramapo Police Department announcement.

“Thankfully, no one was seriously injured,” police said.

The raised ranch-style home is at 20 Stella Dr. The fire happened shortly after 5 p.m.

Firefighters from the Hillcrest and New City Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire. The Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics also assisted.

The road was closed for several hours late Wednesday. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
