Heat Wave Tests Water Resources

United Water asks customers to avoid using sprinklers.

United Water Co.  is asking its customers in Rockland County to restrict water usage outdoors during this heat wave.

United Water spokesman Steve Goudsmith says "the heat wave is testing the limits of our supply."

United Water says that outdoor sprinklers, if not restricted by customers, could increase water usage by 50 percent.
