If you're stopping by Wally's Ice Cream Parlor to cool off with a cone or a shake, take a look across the street in front on St. Augustine's Church and you can see the new sidewalks that are part of the downtown New City renovation taking shape. Construction workers are progressing along the east side of Main Street for the downtown renovation project. The current work along Main Street includes installation of drainage and new sidewalks. The work on Main Street currently has the northbound lane of traffic closed at Third Street, with a three-block detour via Maple Avenue. Southbound traffic is open, but there are occasionally delays in the area during busy hours.
