New Hyde Park Model UN Attends Ivy League Conference
Students received verbal commendations for excellence in their committee.

The New Hyde Park Memorial High School Model United Nations club competed at the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference in Philadelphia.
Hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, the conference is one of the largest, oldest and most competitive Model UN conferences in the world, which included more than 3,000 students from all over the world debating some of the world’s most pressing issues.
Representing the countries of Guatemala and Senegal, as well as participating in several crisis committees, all 25 New Hyde Park delegates participated in the conference, including New Hyde Park students Alicia Manjila, Grace Lee and Tyler Baron, who received verbal commendations for excellence in their committee.

Model United Nation advisers Bernard Laugen and Renee Madigan offered special congratulations to Greg Kothesakis and Jordan Williams, who were named Outstanding Delegate of the Organization of American States; Jaclyn Williams, who was named Outstanding Delegate of the CIA crisis committee; and Camille Bangug and Jay Shah, who were named Best Delegate of the United Nations Economic Conference on Africa.
