Northwell Hospitals Named Top 100 Nationwide For Joint Replacement, Orthopedic Offerings

NEW HYDE PARK, NY. – Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJ Medical Center) and North Shore University Hospital have received high marks for their joint replacement and orthopedic offerings, placing among the 100 best hospitals for joint replacement in a ranking compiled by online healthcare database Healthgrades.

The ranking is accompanied by a second consecutive Top-50 ranking in America for outpatient orthopedic surgery for North Shore University Hospital/Syosset Hospital, while LIJ’s orthopedic hospital was ranked number two in New York for joint replacement.

To identify its top performers, Healthgrades analyzed patient outcomes at care facilities offering orthopedic surgeries including back, neck and rotator cuff surgeries, as well as hip and knee replacements, nationwide. Those hospitals recognized for excellence provide, “a demonstrably better chance at a smooth recovery” than their unrecognized counterparts, Healthgrades said.
