New Hyde Park Resident Swims for Sandy Victims

Lesli Hiller participated in historic swim with Diana Nyad to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Lesli P. Hiller of New Hyde Park recently participated with Diana Nyad in her historic swim in Manhattan to raise funds and awareness for the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

“I’m fortunate to have been given the opportunity to participate with a role- model such as Ms. Nyad and through her charitable endeavors, assist many families who were affected by Superstorm Sandy,” Hiller said.

Nyad is a long-distance swimmer who in 2013, at the age of 64, became the first confirmed person to swim from Cuba to Florida without the protection of a shark cage.
