Suspect Arrested In Westchester Home Invasion Where Victim Was Pistol-Whipped, Robbed
Two suspects, with semi-automatic weapons, escaped in July with approximately $75,000 worth of jewelry, according to New Rochelle police.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police have made an arrest in a violent Westchester County home invasion that took place in July.
The New Rochelle Police Department announced that 28-year-old Shakeem Hinds, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Monday, in connection with the July 22, home invasion robbery that took place on Kewanee Road.
Police say the arrest was made in front of the suspect's Brooklyn home after a five-month investigation. Hinds was charged with felony first-degree robbery, felony first-degree burglary, and felony fourth-degree conspiracy.

The robbery took place during the early morning of July 22, around 1:25 a.m., when a 25-year-old man was attacked when returning to his Kewanee Road home.

Two suspects, both armed with semi-automatic handguns, confronted the victim at the home. The suspects pistol-whipped him and escaped with approximately $75,000 worth of jewelry, including a Rolex watch and a gold necklace, before fleeing the scene, according to preliminary reports from the NRPD.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say that although Hinds has been charged, the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests are possible.
