Voices of Common Sense: Readings from Thomas Paine’s 1776 Call for Independence

The program, a community reading of portions of Common Sense, will feature State Assembly Member Amy Paulin, other elected officials, young people, and others. TPHA Board member Lisa Burton will moderate, and the event will include a discussion period with TPHA President, Gary Berton. You will hear Paine’s persuasive case against “reconciliation” with Britain and his inspiring call to action to establish America as a nation where all people are free and equal.
