Metro-North Holiday Lights Trains Are Back For The Season In The Hudson Valley
Train spotters will soon have no choice but to get into the holiday spirit when the spirit of the season once again takes to the rails.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It's hard not to get excited when you see the glowing holiday lights speeding down the tracks, and that joyful time of the year is here once again.
Metro-North Railroad is heralding the return of the Holiday Lights Trains. The special decked-out train will welcome the season starting Friday, and will be hitting the rails through New Year's.
The Holiday Lights Trains will be once again festooned with colorful exterior lights. This year, special holiday-themed safety messages will play at selected stations to keep the holiday cheer going.

"The Holiday Lights Trains are a wonderful early gift to Metro-North riders and the best way for everyone to get to all the amazing holiday destinations in New York City, the Hudson Valley and Connecticut," Metro-North Railroad President Justin Vonashek said. "Metro-North is creating lifetime memories for everyone who rides these festive trains or sees it roll through their town."
Metro-North will spread double the cheer this year, adding a diesel train for the first time, bringing holiday lights to every part of Metro-North's East of Hudson territory.

This year, the Long Island Rail Road will join in the fun as well.
The Long Island Rail Road holiday lights train will operate along all electric branches. Both railroads will operate on a random rotation of regularly scheduled trains all times of day and night.
