New Rochelle To Host Event To Help Veterans Get 'The Support They Have Earned And Deserve'

The second annual Veterans Resource Fair will put veterans in touch in person with resources available for those who have served.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The best way to support those who served is to return the favor, and that opportunity is here once again in new Rochelle.

Veterans Resource Fair at City Hall- November 12

The City of New Rochelle will host its second annual Veterans Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 12 from 5-7 PM in the City Hall Rotunda.

Dedicated to supporting our City’s veterans and their families, the event will feature City, County, and local organizations. City departments on hand include Human Resources and Civil Service, with information on City employment and the veteran’s credit that is applicable to entrance and promotional exams; the Assessor’s Office, for how to take advantage of the Veteran tax exemption; the Housing Office; and the City Clerk’s Office with applications for the City’s new Active Duty & Veteran Parking program that was recently adopted by the City Council.

Veterans’ service organizations scheduled to be on site include the Westchester County Veterans Service Agency, the Westchester Veterans Center, Guardian Revival, Semper Real Estate, Monroe University, and others.

The event is presented by the City of New Rochelle’s Human Resources Department.

“We are deeply grateful for the service and sacrifice of our veterans and active-duty military members,” said City Manager Wilfredo Melendez. “This resource fair is just one way we can honor their commitment—by making sure they are connected with trusted local partners and the support they have earned and deserve.”
