New Rochelle To Host First Flag Day Celebration At City Hall

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle will be hosting its first Flag Day ceremony at New Rochelle City Hall, "in celebration of the Stars and Stripes and the enduring values of freedom, unity and patriotism."

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Flag Day (Friday, June 14) with a flag ceremony featuring the New Rochelle Police Department and New Rochelle Fire Department color guards and remarks from Mayor Ramos Herbert, Acting City Manager Wilfredo Melendez, Buildings Commissioner Paul Vacca, Fire Chief Andrew Sandor and representatives from the veteran community.

After the ceremony, a resource fair dedicated to supporting the city’s veterans will be held, featuring New Rochelle, Westchester County, and local organizations. Staff from various city departments will explain the veteran’s credit that is applicable to entrance and promotional exams, and provide information on veteran’s tax credits. Veterans' service organizations will also be on hand.
