New Rochelle Police Host First Ever 'Cone With A Cop' Event
Upcoming events are Aug. 11, 13 and 25, according to the Police and Community Together Unit.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Last month, the city’s police department held its “Cone with a Cop” program, which includes New Rochelle officers from the Police and Community Together Unit escorting a Mister Softee ice cream truck to different neighborhoods as residents get free cones.
The event, which debuted July 16 had hundreds of cones distributed on Fourth Street in the West End on its first day, and the New Rochelle Police Department hopes for a similar turnout for its next three upcoming dates.
Residents can get free cones on Aug. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East End to Stephenson Park and the Parkside Place Apartments; Aug. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at North and Central of the Pinebrook Park area and Lincoln Park; and Aug. 25 at 6 to 8 p.m. Central and South of New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority, Bracey Houses, and 50 Sickles Ave. and Lockwood Ave., according to the police.
