Jamaal Bowman Projected Winner Of NY Congressional 16 Election 2022
The campaigning has come to an end and voters have had their say in a historic election that could determine the balance of power in D.C.

NEW YORK — The polls have closed and we now know who will represent New York's 16th Congressional District and perhaps control of the House of Representatives.
Multiple media outlets, including AP, CNN and NBC News have declared Incumbent Jamaal Bowman the projected winner of New York's 16th Congressional District.
With 624 of 703 precincts reporting, Democrat Jamaal Bowman has built an insurmountable lead with 91,974 votes to challenger Miriam Levitt Flisser's 57,723 votes.

The growing popularity of early voting added a sense of urgency to the waning days of the race. In an election season that saw district lines re-drawn, and re-drawn again in the Hudson Valley, voters got to know new candidates and a few familiar faces, and in some cases, former allies turned rivals, surviving hard-fought primary races and incumbents battled newly invigorated challenges.
It all came down to Election Day 2022.

Incumbent Jamaal Bowman faced Republican challenger Miriam Levitt Flisser in the district that now includes the northern Bronx and southern Westchester County, including the suburban cities of Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle and Rye. It also includes the New York City neighborhoods of Co-op City, Williamsbridge, and Riverdale.
