United Hebrew Ranked Among Nation's Best Nursing Homes 2025
Double recognition as a top-tier senior care community.

DOUBLE RECOGNITION AS TOP-TIER SENIOR CARE COMMUNITY:
UNITED HEBREW RANKED AMONG NATION’S BEST NURSING HOMES
2025 BY BOTH NEWSWEEK AND U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT
New Rochelle, NY (November 13, 2024) …Each year, major news organizations evaluate the
nation’s long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facilities with stringent criteria to help
families make informed decisions when caring for their loved ones. United Hebrew in New
Rochelle is proud to rank among the nation’s best, recognized by Newsweek as one of
“America’s Best Nursing Homes” and by U.S. News & World Report with their highest possible
rating, “High Performing,” for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation.
For families in Westchester and the Hudson Valley, these distinctions reinforce what many
know: the New Rochelle senior care community is a top choice.

Says Rita Mabli, President & CEO of United Hebrew, “As our aging demographic grows — with
adults aged 65 or older set to comprise over 20 percent of the total U.S. population — these
rankings are more meaningful than ever. They signal our commitment to ensuring that older
adults receive the best possible care. We are honored that both Newsweek and U.S. News &
World Report have acknowledged the dedication of our entire team to providing a communityfor better living. Alongside our 5-star Medicare ratings, these distinctions underscore our
mission to helping seniors thrive.”
The Rankings
Of the 14,858 nursing homes evaluated by Newsweek, only 1,050 were named as one of
“America’s Best.” In New York State, where more than 600 facilities operate, only 69 received
the recognition. These rankings, performed by Statista, rely on rigorous performance measures
such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data based on health inspections,
staffing, quality, reputation, accreditation, and resident satisfaction scores.

U.S. News & World Report rated more than 15,000 nursing homes throughout the country.
U.S. News & World Report assesses facilities with separate evaluations for short-term
rehabilitation and long-term care; only 19% of nursing homes in either category achieved a
“High Performing” rating. Their evaluations include staffing levels, health outcomes and
resident feedback, ensuring facilities meet federal standards and set a benchmark for
exceptional care. Mabli credits the facility’s well-deserved recognition to its committed staff.
She adds, “Our team members go above and beyond every day, bringing kindness, compassion,
and professionalism to each resident interaction. They are the heart of United Hebrew, and
their commitment to excellence is what sets us apart.”
The organization’s reputation is further strengthened by its campus of comprehensive care,
which spans assisted living, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, skilled nursing and short-term
rehabilitation, and independent senior housing. Over the years, United Hebrew has garnered
consistent recognitions over the years for its patient-centered care from the Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services and the New York State Department of Health. Additionally, Rita
Mabli has been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally with awards for her visionary
leadership in the senior care sector.
