Westchester County Man Claims His $1M Powerball Prize

The lucky New Rochelle man bought the winning ticket at a shop on Main Street in September of last year.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The city's newest millionaire has collected his winning in one lump sum after coming forward with a winning lottery ticket.

New York Lottery officials announced that Everald Anderson, of New Rochelle, has claimed his $1,000,000 second prize for matching the first five Powerball numbers drawn on September 12, 2022.

His winning numbers were 06 – 14 – 16 – 34 – 66, with a Powerball number of 25.

Anderson chose to receive a single lump sum payment of $651,004, after required withholdings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lucky Trading 486 Inc., located at 486 Main St. in New Rochelle.

Officials say that New York’s Powerball game generated $358,376,004 in total sales during fiscal year 2021-2022. School districts in Westchester County received $110,125,461 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.
