• Founding chef/operations director of Ember & Cork resigns (timesunion.com) — A Niskayuna resident, chef Marc Alvarez, has stepped down as founding chef and operations director of Ember & Cork in downtown Schenectady, 14 months after its opening. His longtime lieutenant, Thai Do, will now lead the kitchen, aiming to maintain the restaurant’s praised wood-fired menu and consistency.
