• Rensselaer County to begin $112M nursing home overhaul (timesunion.com) — A massive $111.7 million renovation of the county-owned Van Rensselaer Manor nursing home in North Greenbush is set to begin in February, bringing major upgrades to the building’s systems, security, and appearance. The state will reimburse 85% of the cost, and county officials say the project should boost resident capacity and efficiency while keeping disruptions minimal by shifting residents between wings during construction.
   

• Albany man arrested on check fraud charges (news10.com) — North Greenbush Police say an Albany man has been charged after a fake check was allegedly deposited at a local credit union, resulting in more than $7,000 in losses. The suspect was arrested on a warrant, turned over to North Greenbush Police, and released under county probation supervision while awaiting a future appearance in Town Court.
