#92: Port of Egypt Marine's Annual Open House

Time to gear up and hit the water on the North Fork. Check out Port of Egypt's open house in Southold this weekend.

Are you dreaming of cruising the bay in a little speed boat this summer, wind in hair without a care? Or how about that maiden voyage on a new boat, fishing poles ready for anything that bites?

Grab your flippy-floppies — you can indulge in all sorts of warm-weather maritime fantasies this weekend at annual , Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Southold.

This is the first weekend the marina and boat yard opens its retail doors to the public this year. The open house includes free boat trips around the Southold Bay, fishing and cooking demonstrations, wine tasting, and informational sessions from nature and birding experts.

The marina, which is celebrating 50 years as the country's first Grady-White fishing and cruising boat dealership this year, will also hold a raffle to give someone a chance to win a stay at Heron Suites, which is located on the marina's property.

This season, Port of Egypt is offering a for the first time — a program that will allow boat enthusiasts to hit the water with a boat from the marina without the expense and hassel of owning a boat. , a new restaurant from the owners of aMano in Mattituck, is also set to open on the Port of Egypt property in the spring in a building that was originally supposed to be a restaurant called Bay and Hearth.
