Canadian Wildfire Smoke Set To Spark Haze On Long Island: Experts
Thursday night's sunset was hazy and smoke is expected to impact the area on Friday, as well, experts predict

LONG ISLAND, NY — Thursday's sunset may appear a bit hazier than usual, due to the smoke from Canadian wildfires.
Accuweather reported that Friday is expected to bring partly sunny skies and humidity; the wildfire smoke will cause the sky to be hazy. Highs are expected to reach the mid 80s.
Joe Pollina, meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Upton, told Patch that the smoke could impact the area. Friday from morning to early afternoon.

“You may notice hazy skies today. It is coming from wildfire smoke, which has overspread across the area from north to south. We expect this to stick around for the next several days. Not expecting harmful impacts to air quality, at this time,” the NWS posted on X.
