GREENPORT, NY — An intoxicated man who was harassing several pedestrians on Front Street in Greenport Tuesday afternoon was arrested, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 3:20 p.m. at Mitchell Park Marina; police responded to a report of an intoxicated male, 48, from Charleston NC, harassing the individuals.

Police said the intoxicated man was combative with responding officers and was subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Due to his level of intoxication, he was brought to police headquarters, where he was held until his blood alcohol level lowered; he was later released on an appearance ticket, police said.
