Magic Fountain Ice Cream Parlor For Sale; Owner to Move to Utah

Owner of Mattituck ice cream hot spot will open another Magic Fountain in Utah and hopes to find the right person to take over on the North Fork.

Choudry Ali, owner of the popular Magic Fountain ice cream shop in Mattituck, said he is trying to sell the business because he and his wife, Journey, want to relocate to St. George, Utah, a place they’ve visited often and fell in love with, he said.

“We both love the mountains out there and have had property out there for a while,” Ali said. “You have to go where you’re going to enjoy life, you know?”

Since 2007, Ali has wowed ice cream lovers from near and far with his unique homemade ice cream flavors such as olive oil, goat cheese and even Guinness as well as standard flavors of scoops and soft serve. The business has stood for over four decades as an ice cream shop on the corner of Route 25 and Factory Avenue and began its life as a Dairy Queen.

“Business has never been bad here, it was just time for a change,” he said. “My wife grew up here, that's why we bought this place. It’s beautiful out here.”
