Man Stabbed 2X In Greenport Assault: Police

He was airlifted for treatment and is currently in stable condition, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A man was stabbed twice during an altercation in Greenport early Thursday, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 12:12 a.m. on South Street. A man, 31, was involved in a physical altercation with another male, known to the victim, police said.

The victim sustained two stab wounds to his torso and was transported by Suffolk County Police Department aviation to a hospital for treatment; he is currently in stable condition, police said.
