1. Like to drink while you think? You might want to check out trivia night at Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead starting at 7 p.m. tonight. The event is free and open to those over 21.

2. Raphael Vineyards in Peconic is hosting a "Late Night Thursday Revival" to kick-off Columbus Day weekend tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. with live music from the band Heat Wave. Good thing that Southold Town noise ordinance hasn't kicked in …

3. Spend a lot of time in New York City? Revisit "Subway Stories" tonight at 6 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport. The 1997 HBO film documents real-life moments on the most famous of all underground metropolitan transportation systems.

4. Look for an editor's notebook on the experience of volunteering at the Southold Town Animal Shelter, which has had a recent run of new tenants due to the tough economy.
