Police: DWI Following Motor Vehicle Accident, Larceny at Car Dealership
Southold Town Police report an incident of driving while intoxicated after a Friday night car crash and a report of larceny at Lucas Ford in Southold.

Jeannie Caufield, 53, of Southold was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Friday at 6:12 p.m. at the intersection of Route 48 and Youngs Avenue in Southold. Police reported that Caufield was driving a 2001 Saab on Youngs Avenue when she lost control of the car and hit a utility pole. The collision caused the car to overturn and come to rest on all four tires, police said. Caufield was transported to by members of the and was subsequently found to be intoxicated, police said.
Maria Allas, 29, of Southold was driving a 2011 Ford SUV eastbound on Route 25 in Southold on March 29 when she swerved to avoid a Jeep with its blinker on to make a left-hand turn and lost control of the vehicle, hit a fence then two trees, police said. Police responded to a report made on Saturday of $2,312 worth of wheels and tires stolen from a locked trailer at on Hortons Lane in Southold sometime within the last four months. An unknown suspect broke the lock on a car trailer, and the incident is still under investigation, police said.
