Police: Riverhead Man With Active Warrant Charged with Unlicensed Operation

Yimi Escamilla, 32, of Riverhead was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Saturday at 8:37 p.m., after Southold Town Police stopped him for a traffic violation on Route 48 in Mattituck, police said. After investigation, police found that Escamilla had a suspended license and also had an active warrant for his arrest, police said. He was arrested and transported to headquarters in Peconic where he was held for the Suffolk County Fugitive Squad.
