Police: Southold Man Busted for Stealing Boat in 2009

Brant Ovsianik, 24, of Southold was arrested on Wednesday 2:24 p.m. on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from a May 2 charge of petit larceny, police said.

A 59-year-old Southold man reported on May 2 that Ovsianik borrowed his 1972 Starcraft boat on January 15, 2009, with the agreement that the boat would be returned the next day, police said. To this day the boat has not been returned, police said. After investigation, police located Ovsianik at a Soundview Avenue residence in Southold on Wednesday and made the arrest.
