Shelter Island Chamber’s July Fireworks Will Not Be Rescheduled
Last weekend's cancelled event will not happen this year.
In case you were one of those beachgoers or boaters who waited for a fireworks show off of Shelter Island’s Crescent Beach last Saturday — and perhaps again last Sunday — Chamber of Commerce members will not try to light off any fireworks again this weekend.
Word was reported last week in the Shelter Island Reporter that chamber members decided to take a credit from Bay Fireworks for next year instead. Last Saturday, a technical glitch caused the no-show, and rainy weather conditions forced the cancellation again on Sunday.
