'Shortest Race On The Planet' To Be Held On North Fork This New Year's Eve
The 2nd Annual .5K Beer Run at Greenport Harbor Brewery is a fun part of the New Year's Eve festivitiies.
NORTH FORK, NY — The countdown is on to celebrate New Year's Eve with the "shortest race on the planet," to be held on the North Fork.
The 2nd Annual .5K Beer Run at Greenport Harbor Brewery takes place as part of the 2025 New Year's Eve Bash. The race takes place at 2 p.m. at the Greenport Harbor Brewery in Peconic, located at 42155 Main Road.
"At just 1,640 feet, this fast, fun race features five craft-beer hydration stations, playful competition, and strong visual moments," organizers said. "Participants will take one lap around the brewery while sampling brews and competing for prizes including best outfit, fastest time, and several surprise categories revealed on race day."

The event, organizers said, is "a lighthearted way to close out 2024 — bringing together community, craft beer, and a quick dash toward 2025."
