Southold Town Meeting to Take Place in Mattituck on Tuesday

officials will unveil a consultant’s report during their Tuesday night meeting regarding the Mattituck business corridor, a section of town on Route 25 and Route 48 from Factory Avenue to Wickham Avenue that has been under analysis for months now.

The meeting will take place at the at Pacific Street and Sound Avenue at 7:30 p.m. in Mattituck. Supervisor Scott Russell’s to take the place of the one-way section of Old Sound Avenue near Love Lane and the is only one part of the larger corridor study.

Other items on the agenda for the night include:

• Spring cleanup for leaves and brush to commence on April 11 beginning in Orient and ending in Laurel. The town also plans to authorize the acceptance of residential leaves, brush and branches at the in Cutchogue starting on April 1 and ending on May 15.

• Due to a state cut of a grant that helped fund the Town’s new Municity Software record-keeping project, the software’s vendor has agreed to receive less for the product, resulting in $7,912 in savings for the town.

• Get ready to ring in little league season on the North Fork with a parade planned for April 16 in Peconic. Town officials plan to grant permission to the North Fork and Southold Little Leagues to March down Peconic Lane from the parking lot of the beginning at 11:30 a.m.
