Weekend Spotlight: Shelter Island Photography to Help Library
The Shelter Island Public Library will host its annual photography exhibit and fundraiser this coming Saturday.
The will hold it second annual photography exhibit, a free reception and silent auction on Saturday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Photographs, which are 8 x 10 and larger matted and/or framed, depict images from locations all across Shelter Island. Last year the benefit event raised over $4,000 towards the library's 125th anniversary fund to renovate the lower level of the library. The renovation campaign's goal is $700,000 and $512,000 has been raised to date.
A preview of the photography and early bids will take place in the library from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Refreshments will be donated by local merchants, including the The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Shelter Island Public Library.

"This special event features incredible Shelter Island talent capturing Shelter Island beauty while benefiting the Shelter Island Library — all at the same time," said library director Denise DiPaolo.
