7 Hit with Drug-, Alcohol-Related Charges at South Nyack Police Checkpoint
South Nyack-Grand View Police, Rockland County Sheriff's Department conduct joint operation on Route 9W.

A sobriety checkpoint conducted by South Nyack-Grand View Police and the Rockland County Sheriff's Department led to seven drug- and alcohol-related arrests on Route 9W in South Nyack.
The combined effort took place overnight Friday into Saturday, leading to the following charges:
- Anthony O. Najarro, 19, of Higland Falls, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana. He was released on $500 bail pending a hearing in South Nyack Village Court.

- Alton M. Frisbie, 26, of Tarrytown, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was released pending a Jan. 7 hearing.
- James E. Awe, 42, of Nyack, was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a Jan. 7 hearing.

- Matthew J. Resnick, 26, of Rockaway, NY, was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- Thomas M. Giampapa, 26, of Fairfield, NJ, was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- John L. Cornacchia, 26, of Garden City, NY, was was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- Justin B. Zuckerman, 26, of Nyack man was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and also issued a ticket for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
