Why are you seeking elective office?
To make the Village of Nyack a better place to live, improve our quality of life, and to put the interests of Village Residents over those of the Development Lobby.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
There is not just one pressing issue, but one of the most current issues that is now fully apparent are the new developments rising on upper Main St that are completely out of character and scale of our quaint Village. I want to evaluate and reset Zoning Codes to rein in overbuilding in Nyack that will certainly overburden our infrastructure and repeal the Water Front Text Amendment that allowed denser and higher buildings in the WF zone.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have been an activist fighting for the interests of the Village residents for many years, I have extensive business and management experience, and I have been involved in various Village committees and initiatives.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
More affordable housing through increasing the affordable housing requirement of new developments and ending the buyout option, Adaptive Reuse of existing properties, renter protections (ETPA), more green space acquisitions for the enjoyment of Village residents, parking issues that need to be addressed, term limits for elected office holders, and much more!
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Leadership roles in the Military, Economic (Farm) manager of a Kibbutz, running a successful business for over 26 years, activism in the Village of Nyack helping to protect neighborhoods (Gedney, Depew, and Midland Avenues) over the years, serving on Village committees, etc.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Always look for the best in people!
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I pledge to be an activist Trustee who will place the interests of Village Residents first and foremost.
