Nyack Circus for Kids Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Original Show at RCC Theater
On October 6 & 7, 2012 at Rockland Community College’s Cultural Arts Theater, 10 intrepid teenagers from Amazing Grace CIRCUS! in Nyack will flip, tumble and defy gravity when they debut their original children’s circus/theater story titled “The Hippo Who Wanted to Fly.”
"The Hippo Who Wanted to Fly" is the charming story of a young Hippo who is determined to fly, despite the fact that she is wing-challenged. When her parents object to her fantasy, Hippo ventures forth from her pond to find anyone who can help her fulfill her dream. In an unfamiliar part of the jungle she meets a mentor named NEWT who introduces her to 'animals, who know animals, who know animals that know something about flying'. In the end, Hippo learns many lessons about herself, about 'spreading her wings' and really learning to fly.
'Hippo Show' is a creation of the Amazing Grace CIRCUS! Youth Troupe from Nyack, NY, to celebrate their 10th Anniversary of bringing the lessons of CIRCUS to over 4,000 children a year. The show is created, directed and produced by AGC! Artistic Directors and co-founders, Carlo Pellegrini and Janet Hayes.
