WEST NYACK, NY — H&M has closed its stores in the Palisades Center and Poughkeepsie Galleria temporarily for renovations.

"We currently have a makeover in progress and will be reopening soon," the company's media relations team wrote to Patch.

The Swedish-based retailer is one of the largest non-anchor stores in the two malls.

Change is clearly in the air for H&M, which closed its old Harlem store in August as part of a reported 240 locations doomed to shutter, according to Yahoo Finance. Then it opened a new one at 100 West 125th St. in November.

The Rockland County store is set to reopen in March. H&M is among several tenants at the Palisades Center who are investing in their spaces and undergoing extensive renovations, mall officials said, listing recent enhancements by tenants such as Taco Bell, T-Mobile, Dunkin, Burger King, Claire's, and American Eagle.
