Hazardous Outlooks Issued For Tuesday's Wintry Mix In The HV
A "disorganized mess" will bring icy conditions, slippery roads and flat temperatures. Here are the details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With a wintry mix expected to bring up to 2 inches of snow and a glaze of ice in the Hudson Valley over the next 20 hours, the National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and northern Westchester counties to midday Wednesday.
The NWS also issued a hazardous outlook for southern Westchester, saying pockets of light freezing rain are possible, and even a small amount of freezing rain is capable of producing hazardous conditions.
Mixed precipitation is expected to begin between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. North of I-84 it will be mostly sleet and snow, while south of that, the folks at Hudson Valley Weather predicted mostly rain and snow, calling the storm "a disorganized mess ... bringing just about every form of precipitation imaginable."

Plan on slippery road conditions, the NWS said. The hazardous conditions could affect the evening and morning commute.
"Pockets of light freezing rain are most likely between 11 AM and 7 PM, today," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook. "The pockets of freezing drizzle and freezing rain will mix with plain rain, some sleet, and even some snowflakes. Just a glaze of ice could bring travel to a halt."
