Jobless Rates Below 4% Across The Hudson Valley
The state's latest employment data show local economies are going strong.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Unemployment rates have bounced back this fall even stronger in the region than in much of New York state, though most of the state has shown strong recovery from 2020 and the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
In Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties, no unemployment rate was above 3.7 percent in November, according to the latest figures from the state labor department. In fact, Westchester and Orange had the highest jobless rates, at 3.7 percent, while Putnam and Rockland were down to 3.3 percent.
Compare that to New York State’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate, which was 6.6 percent in November, down from 6.9 percent in October.
