Lawler, Maloney To Face Off In 17th Congressional Candidates Forum
The evening event, sponsored by the League of Women Voters with partner Disability Rights New York, will be a virtual one.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The two candidates running in the 17th Congressional District in New York will face off at a forum Oct. 12 sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Westchester County.
State Assemblyman Michael Lawler is challenging U.S. Rep Sean Patrick Maloney for the seat.
The 17th, redrawn after the 2020 Census, now includes much of Westchester County, all of Rockland and Putnam and a bit of eastern Dutchess County.

A six-term incumbent, Maloney beat off a challenge from the left, besting State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi in the Democratic primary. Lawler won handily against four challengers in the Republican primary and one in the Conservative Party primary.

Early voting runs Oct. 29-Nov. 6 and Election Day is Nov. 8.
