HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A second "Alberta clipper" weather system is expected to bring a little snow to the lower Hudson Valley Friday night.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, snow accumulations of an inch or two could cause slippery conditions late tonight into Saturday morning, the National Weather Service said.

The snowfall will be concentrated over New York City and Long Island unless the storm track changes, the NWS said in its briefing.

"Go with the coating to 2” but keep the idea of 2”-4” as an outlier possibility tonight," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook.

The mid-Hudson Valley could get snow showers off and on Friday, Friday night and Saturday, the NWS said. The area is under a wind advisory until 4 p.m. SEE: Wind Gusts Cause Power Outages Across The Hudson Valley

As with all clippers, the storm will be moving quickly and with limited moisture drawn from the Pacific, but could still cause some travel disruptions, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

It'll be clear and cold for the rest of the holiday weekend, with temperatures dipping into the teens Saturday night. Things will warm up slightly on Monday, into the 40s.
