Mall Store Employee Accused in $1,900 Theft

Monsey resident, 19, charged with creating false returns at Abercrombie and Fitch in Palisades Center.

A 19-year-old Monsey man who worked at a Palisades Center mall store is charged with stealing nearly $2,000 by creating false returns, according to Clarkstown Police.

Ljumbomir Nikolic who worked at the Abercrombie and Fitch store in West Nyack, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after a complaint from the store. Police said Nikolic is accused of taking cash from the store on several dates after posting false merchandise returns, with the total hitting $1,920.54.

In addition to fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, Nikolic is charged with falsifying business records, a felony.

Nikolic was taken to Clarkstown Police Headquarters in New City and arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court in New City. He was ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $750 bail pending a hearing on Oct. 15.
